Making A Booking
Yes. Reservations are required for guaranteed spots on all tours. Reservations help us determine the number of guides we need to ensure that our groups remain manageable and enjoyable, and they allow us to notify you of changes to the tour due to weather or anything that could disturb the tours.
Our office hours are Monday - Friday, 08h00 - 17h00, Saturday 08h00 - 13h00 South African Time. Email enquiries outside of these times will be responded to first thing on Monday morning. The cell phone booking line will be operational from 08h00 - 19h00 on weekdays and 08h00 - 16h00 on weekends. The bookings phone will not be answered outside of these hours.
Our tours are booked on a first come, first serve basis so to avoid disappointment please book in advance. Arrivals without a booking will not be guaranteed availability although we will do our best to accommodate you wherever we can.
You can turn any of our tours into a Private tour at a such age of R2095 for the group
Once your booking request is received, invoiced and full payment made, it is refundable as per the conditions below: (a) Less than 48hrs before scheduled tour = No refund (b) Less than 72hrs before scheduled tour = 50% refund (c) More than 72hrs before scheduled tour = 90% refund (d) Cape Town Kayaks shall refund 95% of the tour fee for all tours cancelled due to inclement weather. For all our hiking tours you should be able to climb at least 5 flights of stairs with ease.
Our group tours are set start/end times with a group of up to 10 paddlers. You will paddle at the pace of the slowest paddler and the distance paddled will also be set by the least experienced paddler on the day.
Preparations
Wear clothes that are comfortable to move and paddle in, these will more likely than not get wet so bring clothing that can get wet. Please bring a change of clothing and towel for post tour.
Weather
As much as we would like to, we have no control over the weather. It is generally hot (25 to 35 degrees) during our summer months, and often rainy in our winter months. Please be aware of this. You will receive our rainy day policy once you have made a reservation, or you can view it on our website under About Us.
